Big Brothers Big Sisters provides prevention programs that are designed to heighten self-esteem, improve self-confidence, improve peer relationships, and improve academic achievement and social behavior of children during primary through adolescent development.

Personal Safety Program:

Our Personal Safety is provided as part of the "match" process.  We provide training and information to our volunteers, parents and clients through individualized sessions, educational materials and supplemental reference materials.  The training is geared to foster communication between the adults and children in areas of self-protection.    This important aspect of our training is sponsored by Target.

Community-Based Program:
I
s the “traditional” Big Brothers Big Sisters relationship, where Bigs and Littles get together on their own to share fun activities they both enjoy. It doesn’t require a special occasion or expensive activities; just a few hours every month to share the simple things you already like to do.

Sports Buddies - a new Community-Based Program just for guys:
Sports Buddies is a new activity-based mentoring initiative of Big Brothers Big Sisters.  Of the nearly 1,000 kids ready and waiting to be matched, the majority of them are young boys waiting for a Big Brother.  Sports Buddies has been designed to make it easy for a guys just like you to have a positive impact on a young life through the simple acts of playing and watching sports together.  Don’t miss your chance to have fun and be a kid again!

T

School-Based Program:
